PURPOSE:To increase the Dmax of a direct positive image and to reduce the Dmin by using a sensitive material contg. a specified hydrazine compd. as a nucleus forming agent. CONSTITUTION:A direct positive silver halide photographic sensitive material contg. an unfogged internal latent image type silver halide emulsion and a nucleus forming agent represented by formula I is used. In the formula, each of A1 and A2 is H atom, one of A1 and A2 may be a sulfinic acid residue or acyl group, R1 is an aliphat., arom. or heterocyclic group, R2 is H atom, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy or amino group and at least one of R1 and R2 has at least one substituent dissociable to an anion having >=6pKA, and G is carbonyl, sulfonyl, sulfoxy, phosphoryl or iminomethylene group. The Dmax of a formed direct positive image can be increased and the Dmin can be reduced. |
