PURPOSE:To improve recording and reproduction efficiency, to eliminate contour effect, and to prolong the life of a head by providing one block with a winding part in a thin-film process and joining two blocks so that metallic magnetic films form recording tracks. CONSTITUTION:The metallic magnetic films 12 are formed on mountain-shaped projection parts 11 of two substrates 1 made of non-magnetic materials, and the core blocks are joined across a gap material 13 by using a joining material 16. Thin-film winding 18 and a terminal part 18 are formed on the gap surface of the block 14 and the front and rear part contact parts 20' and 21' of the block 15 and the contact parts 20 and 21 of the block 4 are brought into contact with each other to prevent the winding 18 and block 15 from containing each other. Therefore, the gap and path length of the front and rear part contact parts 20 and 21 are reduced to improve the recording and reproduction efficiency, and the film thickness of the magnetic film 12 is made large to make its boundary surface no parallel to the gap surface; and the contour effect is eliminated, loss resistance is reduced, and high frequency characteristics and mass-productivity are improved.
