PURPOSE:To rapidly collate the feature information of a person having high collating frequency with priority by dividing a registered personal information storing part into a rapid small-capacity internal storage part and a slow large- capacity external storage part and returning to a bit of registered personal feature information to the internal storage part by a use frequency control part to be rearranged at every collation. CONSTITUTION:The personal collating device 11 is constituted of a personal feature information input part 12, a personal feature information temporary storage part 13, a personal identification information input part 14, the internal storage part 15 of registered personal feature information, the external storage part 16 of registered personal feature information, the use frequency control part 17 returning and rearranging the registered personal feature information to the internal storage part 15, and a personal feature information comparing part 18. The registered personal feature information of a person having high collating frequency is rearranged in the rapid small-capacity internal storage part 15 by the control part 17 at every collation. Thereby, the reading of the information from the storage part 12 is faster than that from the storage part 16, so that the waiting time for collation can be shortened.
