PURPOSE:To transfer both 'KANJI' (Chinese character) and 'FURIGANA' (Japanese syllabary pronouncing letters given to 'KANJI') to a computer and to reduce operator's trouble by providing a 'FURIGANA' register. CONSTITUTION:The 'FURIGANA' register 3 is stored with a 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary) input before conversion which is inputted in each input field requiring 'FURIGANA' by a 'KANJI' conversion system by input fields. A host computer interface mechanism 4 when requested to read the field reads out not only a character string converted to 'KANJI' out of a screen character register 2, but also the 'KANA' input after the conversion out of the register 3, and then sends them out to the host computer. For example, 'fujitu' in 'KANJI' and 'fujitu' in 'KANA' are both sent to the host computer only by inputting 'fujitu' in 'KANA' and converting it into 'fujitu' in 'KANJI' with a conversion key.
