PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. having excellent resistance to impact and heat, by melt-kneading a modified polyphenylene ether resin with a specific elastomer and a polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:A polymer obtd. by oxidatively polymerizing a phenol of the formula is reacted with a 1,2-substd. olefin compd. having a carboxyl, acid anhydride or epoxy group in the presence of a radical generating agent to obtain a modified polyphenylene ether resin (modified PPE) (a). Separately, a hydrogenated block copolymer elastomer (TPE) composed of an arom. vinyl compd. polymer block A and an olefin compd. polymer block B having a degree of unsaturation not higher than 20% is reacted with a 1,2-substd. olefin compd. having a carboxyl or acid anhydride group in the presence of a radical generating agent to obtain a modified TPE (b). The component (a) is melt-kneaded with the component (b) and a polyamide (PA) (c) to obtain the title compsn. which is composed of PA, PPE and TPE and in which the dispersion phase of PPE has a diameter of 0.6mum or below and the amount of an insoluble matter formed by extraction with formic acid and then CHCl3 is not less than 20wt.% based on the total amount of PPE and TPE in the compsn. |
