COMBUSTION METHOD FOR POWDERED PETROLEUM COKE IN PROCESS FURNACE

PURPOSE:To improve combustion efficiency without increasing the temp. of a combustion chamber by installing auxiliary burners adjacent to main burners for powdered petroleum coke. CONSTITUTION:Powered petroleum coke made of delayed coke produced from petroleum is sent out to the main burners 2 of a process furnace 1 by the use of primary air and at the same time secondary air previously heated at 250 deg.C is also sent out to the burners 2 to burn powered petroleum coke. The ratio of air/coke is 1.2. At that time stabilizer burners 3 using oil as fuel are installed at the location adjacent to the burners 2 and the powered petroleum coke is efficiency burnt with the aid of the flames of the burners 3. Thereby, the coking of fluid to be heated can be prevented.
