PURPOSE:To form a machine tool compact with low center of gravity of machine by installing a spindle device on an arm, rotating said arm in a vertical plane to vary the vertical position of said spindle device to perform the same action as the vertical movement of a spindle. CONSTITUTION:An X table 3 is reciprocated along rails 2 by means of a motor 4 provided on a bed 1 via a ball screw 5, and a Z table 7 is reciprocated along rails 6 by means of a motor 8 provided on the X table 3 via a ball screw. A revolving arm 12 provided on a supporting body 10 which is integrally formed with the table 7 is revolved by a motor 11, and a spindle device 13 is installed on one end of the arm 12 while a supporting part 14 is received by a ring 15 to prevent the spindle device 13 from falling. A motor 16 for rotating a tool holder 150 is installed on the supporting body 10, a fixing stand 17 for a workpiece W and a control box 18 are provided on the bed 1, and a coolant unit 19 is placed on a lower part. |
