A tape winding machine (Figure 2) has a double vacuum trough (114) with a tape counting wheel (135) between the two troughs. By these means, the wheel can be wrapped about 180 deg. arc to give good contact, ample buffer length can be provided to reduce tape breakage, and the tape only contacts rollers on its non-oxide side. |
