PURPOSE:To float a tape over the outer circumferential surface of a fixed cylinder by static pressure and to reduce the frictional sliding resistance between the tape and cylinder, and to reduce its abrasion to stabilize the running of the tape, by providing port parts for air discharge to the outer circumferential surface of the fixed cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Plural holes 17 for air discharge are provided to the tape sliding surface of the lower fixed cylinder 16, and the holes 17 communicate with plural inlet paths 18, which communicate with a circumferential inlet path 19. An air pump 20 supplies compressed air to the inlet paths 18 through a pipe 21. The compressed air is discharged from a discharge hole 19 to form an air film between the running magnetic tape 22 and the sliding surface of the lower fixed cylinder 16, floating the magnetic tape. Air discharged from the holes 1 flows upward partially and is discharged through the gap part 27 between an upper rotary cylinder 16 and the lower fixed cylinder 3, and the remaining air flows to under the holes 17 similarly, thus discharging the air so that the magnetic tape 22 floats uniformly over the sliding surface. |
