The treatment material can be dissolved in water, another solvent or be an aqueous dispersion. The liquid, which is in excess of that to be used up, is supplied to the chamber which is bounded by the band of material to be treated. There is an adjustable side limiting device. The band enters over an edging strip and leaves via a scraping edge (at an angle beta which is greater than zero deg.). The band exerts a pressure against this edge, thereby determining the level of treatment material used. Liquid is pumped to the arrangement via the feed pipe. A constant level is achieved by use of the weir and outlet pipe. |
