PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for resetting a workpiece by providing a rotary table in addition to a workpiece mounting table, and mounting a workpiece on said rotary table at the time of carrying out turning while mounting said workpiece on said table at the time of machining other than said turning. CONSTITUTION:A spindle head 20 is moved in a Z1 direction by means of a motor 41 and in the longitudinal direction via a feed screw 34 while a rotary table 3 is rotated via a belt 13 and a pulley 12 to turn the outer periphery of a workpiece W, and the head 20 is returned to its original position P. Then, the spindle head 20 is moved in the longitudinal direction and lowered in the Z1 direction and an end mill installed on a spindle 21 is brought close to the top face of the workpiece W to form a groove, and the head 20 is returned to its original position P. Then, by replacing the end mill with a drill on an automatic tool exchanger, the spindle head 20 is moved in the longitudinal and Z1 directions and the drill is brought close to the top face of the workpiece W, to form a hole. |
