PURPOSE:To prevent the drying of ink, by simultaneously covering an orifice and an air suction port at the time of the stoppage of the printing operation of a nozzle head or the quiescent period of said head with a cap having a specific structure to close both of them. CONSTITUTION:In a cap 30, a hollow duckbill shaped protruding part 31b is provided to a plane 31 having a size respectively covering an orifice 15 and a suction port 23 in opposed relation to the suction port 23 and a recessed part 31a is provided thereto in opposed relation to the leading end of a nozzle. When the plane 24 is covered with the cap 30, the protruding part 31b penetrates in the suction port 23 at first to be closely brought into contact therewith and the plane 31 is closely brought into contact with a mount surface 24. Further, a pipe 32 is connected to the cap 30 so as to pierce the same from the recessed part 31a and an ink suction apparatus 33 is arranged. By this structure, the leading end part of the nozzle and air suction port becoming the openings of the ink tank are hermetically closed to make it possible to prevent the drying of ink. Further, when the orifice of the leading end of the nozzle is clogged, the ink suction apparatus is operated in a capping state to suck the ink and air is sucked in the nozzle from the duckbill shaped hollow protruding part 31b. |
