PURPOSE:To make an optical fiber into a cord without splicing the fiber by combining a wire-breaking preventive caps and an upper lid, and further a curing agent protective cylinder and the multicore optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION:The wire-breaking preventive caps 1 are fitted to the upper lid 2 and the curing agent protection cylinder 3 is fitted onto the multicore optical fiber cable 4. An outer jacket 5 and inclusion 6 are removed and the tension member 7 of the multicore optical fiber cable 1 is removed except a little bit from the outer jacket end. Then an optical fiber reinforcing tube 8 is cut matching with the length of several optical fibers 9 to be made into a cord and mounted on the optical fibers 9. Sealing putty 11 is applied to the periphery of the outer jacket removed part of the multicore optical fiber cable and a curing agent is prevented from flowing in; and the curing agent protection cylinder 3 is moved back to a specific position and a tape 12 is provided to prevent the curing agent from leaking on the multicore optical fiber cable side. The curing agent protection cylinder 3 is fixed temporarily and a proper amount of the curing agent 13 is injected; and the respective optical fiber reinforcing tube 8 is run through the top lid 2 and an optical connector 14 is fitted after the curing agent for matching the curing agent protection cylinder 3 cures. |
