PURPOSE:To enable a metallic frame to be miniaturized and lightweight, while its strength and rigidity are improved by a method in which the metallic frame is covered with an elastic body, and further is covered with FRP, and then is bonded therewith. CONSTITUTION:As the elastic material 2 for covering a metallic frame 1, e.g. natural rubber, synthetic rubber and elastomer are used. As the material of the metallic frame, e.g. steel, aluminium, etc., are used. In the bonding of the metallic frame with FRP3, FRP is allowed to be uncured entirely cured or a combination of cured plastic and uncured plastic. When an entirely cured plastic is used, it is preferably laminated by using an adhesive. In the structural member thus obtained, an elastomer is inserted between metallic frame and FRP, and the elastic body absorbs the difference of thermal expansion between both materials. Accordingly, the separation due to thermal expansion of both materials is prevented, and its strength and rigidity are improved. |
