PURPOSE:To enable the easy and simple removal of carriage member contamination without the overhaul of the titled device by providing a cleaning member applied with an adhesive capable of taking and removing residues on the carriage member, and shifting with the rotation of the carriage member. CONSTITUTION:When the surface of carriage rollers 3 have been fouled by paper chips, dusts and the like, and sheet carriage capability has dropped, a cleaning sheet 2 with an adhesive applied to one or both sides thereof is fed to the carriage rollers 3 under rotation in such a way that an area without the adhesive is first inserted. Then, the cleaning sheet 2 is pressed with the carriage rollers 3 and moves with the adhesive applied area 2b kept in contact with the surface of the carriage rollers 3. And dusts on the carriage rollers 3 adhere to the adhesive applied area 2b and are removed. And the carriage rollers 3 are cleaned and the friction and sheet carriage capability thereof are restored. Therefore, the contamination of the carriage rollers 3 can be removed easily and properly without any troublesome overhaul of the titled device.
