The child seat 12 rests on a seat 2 of the vehicle between two places 3, 3' reserved for adults. Each of the places 3, 3' includes a seatbelt 5, 5' having a buckle 9, 9' connected to a part 10a of the bodywork of the vehicle via a strap 7, 7'. The seat 12 includes fixing elements 15, 15' each connected to a buckle 9, 9' of a seatbelt 5, 5' and two fastening elements 16, 16' which are complementary to the fixing elements 15, 15' each one integral with one of the ends of the seatbelt 13 of the seat 12. The end parts of the belt 13 are engaged in openings 22, 22' passing through the lateral sides of the seat 12. <IMAGE>
