The invention relates to a bathtub with a tub bottom, side walls and a tub rim running all the way round. A change in the temperature of the bathtub is made possible by attaching at least one heating plate, over a large area in good thermally conductive contact, to the outer surface of the tub bottom and/or of the side walls, and by the fact that the heating capacity of the heating plate(s) can be set and/or regulated via a control device as a function of measured values of a sensor and/or manually predeterminable switching and control commands.
