<p>A surgical aspirator cannula (30) including an elongated body (44) which defines an aspiration conduit (46) passing longitudinally therethrough. A cannula (38) is removably secured to the body and its tip opening communicates with conduit (46). A hand-operated ball valve assembly (50) is mounted in the body in the conduit, to selectively communicate a source of vacuum (42) with the cannula. The cannula has its proximal end fitted into gripping ferrules (116, 118) which fit into an adaptor that is screwed into the body. Then when cannula nut (124) is tightened onto adaptor (110) by twisting, the ferrules will grip the cannula thereby securing it in place.</p> |
