<p>A mechanism is described for introducing a phase shift between two concentric shafts (10, 20). The mechanism comprises a first toothed wheel (30) mounted for rotation with one of the shafts (10), and a carrier (44) rotatable about an axis concentric with the first toothed wheel (30) and carrying at least one idler gear (40, 42) meshing with the first toothed wheel (30). The second shaft (20) is coupled directly or indirectly for rotation with the carrier (44), and means (50) rotatable with the carrier (44) are provided for rotating the idler gear(s) (40, 42) relative to the carrier (44) and locking the idler gear(s) in any desired position.</p> |
