<p>Disclosed is a key changeable lock of the lever tumbler type wherein at least one tumbler has a series of seats which are alternatively engageable with a fixed pivot. A biasing spring urges the tumbler seats toward the pivot and tends to hold a particular seat against the pivot to define the axis of tumbler rotation. To change the combination, the tumbler is positively shifted along the series of seats by turning a key which bears against the tumbler and overcomes the biasing force of the spring, displacing one seat from the pivot and shifting the tumbler until another seat engages the pivot.</p> |
