It is known that, in pulsation-damping systems, hydraulic accumulators take effect over a relatively wide frequency range only when the pressure medium flows through them without a reversal of the direction of the latter. Previous proposed solutions have related to welded-in pipes for generating a second flow path or to special connection pieces having two connections separate from one another. It has not been possible to refit or convert at a later date already existing hydraulic accumulators which are provided only with one connection. According to the invention, this is to be possible in a simple and cheap way, so that the stock-keeping of the hydraulic accumulators can be simplified. The problem is solved by means of an insert which can be inserted or screwed into the connecting bore and which generates two separate flow paths, namely preferably one through an inner passage bore and the other through outer longitudinal grooves or the like, essentially both flow paths being sealingly separated from one another. Hydraulic accumulators of this type are often employed as pulsation dampers in cooperation with piston pumps, particularly also in hydraulic circuits of motor vehicles.
