PURPOSE:To relieve a load on a CPU by allowing the semiconductor storage device to process internal processing in case of accumulative arithmetic incorporating an accumulator. CONSTITUTION:An accumulator is built in a semiconductor storage device. That is, the accumulator is connected to a storage section (memory cell), and the accumulator has an adder function in addition to a conventional register function. Then an access means accesses a prescribed address of the storage section and the accumulator adds input data Din to the storage content at the address of the storage section, and the result of addition is stored again in the storage section. Thus, the number of times of the memory access by the CPU is decreased to relieve the load on the CPU. |
