A test device according to the invention carries out a test on a vehicle equipped with a level-control device, in order to determine whether the level-control device is working correctly or not working, and it also adjusts the operation of the level-control device, so that this falls in a predetermined range if the operation of the device deviates from this predetermined range. The test device comprises a clamp device for fixing the non-driving wheels of the vehicle under test, free rolls which pick up the rotation of the driving wheels, and a vehicle level-measuring device, in order to measure the settling value brought about by the free rolls.
