A CENTRIFUGE DRUM FOR A CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING CENTRIFUGE

The centrifuge drum of a continuously operating centrifuge, esp. one used in the sugar industry, is in the form of a sheet metal frustum of a cone with each end welded to a flange. The conical surface has two circumferential outflow grooves. These grooves are formed by cutting circumferential slots whilst the cone and its flanges are supported in the welding jig. The cone is thus divided into three parts which are then joined together by a number of plates which are welded to the outside surface and also along the end edges of the parts.
