PURPOSE:To reduce consumption power and heat generation without lowering positioning precision, by controlling damping current periodically and intermittently at a specified duty. CONSTITUTION:When line synchronizing signal LSYNC from an external section is stopped on the way, then a control state immediately before the synchronizing signal LSYNC is stopped is fixed and retained. In this case, to the exciting coil of a stepping motor 1, polyphase pulse current for step-driving the motor does not flow, but damping current ON/OFF-controlled at a specified duty to generate static torque on the motor flows. As a result, the feed of recording paper, manuscript, or the like is temporarily stopped, and the stopped recording paper or manuscript is prevented from being positionally shifted. |
