PURPOSE:To safely and rapidly execute converter operation by extracting the correspondent NEXT backup table No. together with the backup route table to occurrence of abnormality in a gas partial piping for a converter, to execute the backup by surely the min. change at multistage. CONSTITUTION:The supplying gas piping to the converter is subdivided. By using an abnormality correction file F1 and an abnormality factor file F2 in each partial piping, occurrence of the abnormality is detected by computer and the backup route table No. and the abnormality factor corresponding to the using gas are selected. Further, from the use gas bit file F3 and the above abnormality factor No. and the abnormality file F4, the abnormal gas bit No. is selected. From the above backup route table No. and the abnormal gas bit No., one pair of the backup route data in the backup route table T and the NEXT backup table No. at the time, when the abnormality again occurs, are extracted. Based on the above data, the backup of the piping, which the abnormality occurs, is executed and in the case of necessity, the NEXT backup is rapidly executed.
