PURPOSE:To produce the title fibers, by winding up a melt-extruded polyester yarn at a high speed, thus satisfying specific physical properties and suiting with strongly twisted yarns, because they show good setting and creeping properties, when they are made into strongly twisted woven fabrics, further have good dyeability and no yarn unevenness. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber is obtained by taking up a melt-extruded polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate at a speed higher than 5,000m/min, and has an orientation function of 0.36-0.45 at the amorphous part, an optical birefringence n and a crystallinity Xrho, satisfying the equations: 0.140<=DELTAn<=0.165 and 0.35<=DELTAn/Xrho<=0.39 respectively. As for fiber fineness, the filament denier is preferably 1-2.5 and the total denier is preferably 30-180.
