摘要 Braking system for full-track vehicles, with a gear mechanism (3) and a differential steering mechanism (8), both disposed transversally to the longitudinal axis (F) of the vehicle, and two summing mechanisms (5) disposed in the vicinity of the two gear output shafts (54). The gear mechanism and the differential steering mechanism, as well as the summing mechanisms and further gears and devices, are disposed as sub-assemblies (A, B, C, D, E, P) in or on a common casing, as in DE-OS 35 38 002, and together form a gear assembly. The braking system consists of a first construction, comprising a secondary retarder (1) and a friction brake (2), both disposed in front of the summing mechanism. Normal braking with the brake deployment device causes first the secondary retarder (1) and only then the friction brake (2) to come into action. As a second example of application, a primary retarder (7) and a secondary retarder (1) are disposed in the region of the gear mechanism, and braking achieves stoppage by the action of one or several geared brakes (B1, B2, B3) fulfilling a second function. As all brakes are positioned before the summing mechanisms, the steering of the full-track vehicle is in no way impaired on braking.
