PURPOSE:To contrive to improve productivity and mechanical reliability and enable reduction of manufacturing cost by shearing and processing parts of thickness in the outer periphery of a rotor along the axial direction of said rotor and by projecting parts thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a permanent-magnet generator for power supply of an internal combustion engine, an ignition signal generator is composed of a magneto coil 12 on a stator side and a protrusion 11 formed on the outer periphery of a flywheel cylinder 5a and generates a control signal for an igniter by their interaction. When said protrusion 11 is formed, the inner part of a place for the protrusion 11 to be formed out of the outer peripheral face of the flywheel cylinder 5a is sheared and processed from the outside (the metal plate 8 side) along the axial direction (direction of the arrow p) of a rotor 6. The sheared part is compressed and projected in the left side end, and shaped to form the protrusion 11. By this means, no force is applied in the circumferential direction of the flywheel 5 and no distortion accompanying such force occurs to improve dimensional accuracy.
