PURPOSE:To enhance the automatization of generation control of file by forming two files, provided every member, which contain members and a generation information control file for executing the generation control of the files. CONSTITUTION:Two files which are put in different spots in order to be controlled every members A, B-X are provided and they contains the respective members A, B-X so as to constitute the files 1 and 2. The generation information control file 3 is the file for controlling the new and old generations of every member of the files 1 and 2 and consists of a hash block 4 and a member information block 5. The hash block 4 is divided into a hash record 4a in which the name of member and the pointer of a member information record 5a are recorded and the member information block 5 is divided into the member information record 5a, whose generation control information the display of the new and old generations of the files 1 and 2 is written in and whose member control information the information for accessing the files 1 and 2 is written in. Thus, the generation control of file can be automatically executed and the generation control of file can be facilitated.
