PURPOSE:To permit a general buyer to easily read a list price or the like by selecting for a display block one or plural blocks comprising a shape 'square with cross', whose positions differ between the shape 'square with cross' shown by figure a with respect to four blocks in nine same shape. CONSTITUTION:For displaying the list price of 150yen in the package of a commodity, for example, a code 11 showing a number 1, a code 15 showing a number 5 and a code 10 showing '0' are printed in a horizontal line with leaving a little space between. When the commodity in which the list price is displayed by the codes is arranged in a showcase in a convenience store, the buyer can learn the list price 150yen from the numbers included in the codes 11, 15 and 10. When the codes 11, 15 and 10 are put in a reader at the time of payment, which block is occupied by the number as the display block or which block is in a blank state without being occupied by the number is detected, whereby the numbers are read and accurate reading is executed.
