The valve has a housing with one inlet (12) and one outlet (14), within the housing is a stepped bore (16) in which a valve piston (18) locates within a bush (30). The piston is subjected to spring force (24) at one end and inlet pressure which causes the bush to move to regulate subject. Built into the bush is a ball valve (58) that is held against the seat by a spring (60) loaded by the piston. At the output side of the valve is an actuator (72) that responds to electrical signals generated by a control stage (80). The pressure produced by the valve is regulated by the control stage dependent upon load conditions. ADVANTAGE - Allows brake pressure to be regulated dependent upon vehicle conditions.
