PURPOSE:To improve data transmission throughput by bypassing a non-selection node. CONSTITUTION:Three functions are given to respective nodes. Namely, a first function bypasses a selection signal from a channel CH to the node S of a downstream from the node S of oneself, transmits the selection signal to a control unit CU which is under the control of oneself, and stores an answer from the control unit CU. A second function connects the selected control unit if a result which the first function has stored shows that the control unit CU under the control of oneself has been selected. A third function does not access to the transmission line but bypasses from the node S concerned to the transmission if the result which the first function has stored shown that the control unit CU under the control of oneself is not selected. Thus, the distance extension interface of interchannel whose data transfer throughput is large and which is connected to a loop can be obtained.
