The invention relates to a device for improving the efficiency of profiled wing-like structural elements around which fluids or gases flow, such as aerofoils, blades of turbo-machines, propellers or the like. The device has wings which have a strip-shaped profile and between which a respective gap widening to a maximum width relative to the edge of the strip-shaped wing is arranged for the purpose of displacing the flow breakaway zone. The wing head of each wing-like structural element is designed, by means of radially extending gaps, in the manner of a spreading wing as a bunch of profiled wing fingers which are arranged relative to one another in such a way that the wing edges of the wing fingers succeeding one another in the oncoming-flow direction are designed respectively offset to one another in the direction of the pressure zone of the wing-finger profile.
