The invention relates to a ventilation device which is preferably installed in the wall of a roller-shutter box and which sucks in the outside air through the interior of the roller-shutter box via a supply-air opening provided with exchangeable filters and provides the dwelling room, in an energy-saving manner, with a draught-free supply of air which is clean and at the correct temperature, and also prevents noise transmission from the outside inwards. In order to design the ventilation device so that it is even simpler and more effective, according to the invention an enlarged sucking-in region for the supply air and an enlarged blowing-out region with short air-guiding duct are provided, the opening of the latter being directed obliquely downwards, towards the window. Provision may be made in the device for additional, slot-shaped sucking-in regions which suck in the warm room air from the ceiling, or alternatively such sucking-in regions can be completely omitted. In this case, the air flow at the blowing-out region of the ventilation device according to the invention brings about a draught-free circulation of the room air.
