A horse feeding enclosure provided for feeding on hay has a feed-supply shaft which is adjoined on the underside by a chute which is curved in the form of an arc of a circle and forms part of a feed crib. The other part of the feed crib is formed by a front plate which is arranged approximately symmetrically to the chute and over which the horse bends, when feeding, to a feed grid which is arranged, on a horizontal pivot shaft, approximately vertically between chute and front plate. The feed grid comprises a steel-tube framework having grid tubes at mutual spacings of approximately 20 cm, with the result that the feed is easily accessible. If the horse is not to feed, the feed grid is pivoted up into a horizontal position, the feed in the region of the chute and in the supply shaft (silo) being pushed slightly upwards and thereby loosened.
