<p>The implantation probe (1) has each cathode (3) to be installed in the electron guns of a trichrome cathode ray tube fitted over the end of the implantation electrode (1), and retained by a low vacuum communicated through a central drilling. The electrode end is enlarged to fit closely inside the cathode. When an electron gun is moved towards a supported cathode (3), an eyelet (14) carried on an integral mounting (14A) passes over the latter and engages an enlarged diameter at its rear end (19). If the eyelet is misaligned, the cathode tilts about the enlarged electrode (1) end and can still be positioned in relation to the gun's grid (G1) by an associated actuator (2). After the cathode is soldered in place, the actuator (2) withdraws the implantation electrode (1). An articulated joint at the actuator end allows free movement to ensure that the cathode is not damaged in the process.</p> |
