PURPOSE:To perform a simple and reliable emergency stop, by 8 method where in, through control of a control switch along with control of a gear shifting lever to control gear shifting of 8 transmission, a main clutch located to the transmission is engaged and disengaged. CONSTITUTION:When a control switch 6 mounted to a gear shifting lever 3 in a neutral position is turned ON, through the action of a hydraulic cylinder 51, a clutch arm 49 is rotated, the arm 49 is forced into contact with a roller 63 to rotate a restraint hook 64. The rotation of the restrain hook releases a lock pin 66 and a lock plate 60 from engegement with each other, and the gear shifting lever 3 is controllable to a desired gear shifting position. When, after control of gear shift, the control switch 6 is turned OFF, a clutch arm 49 is rotated through the force of a spring 48, the lock pin 66 is engaged with an engaging groove 61, positioned facing a selected gear shifting position, of the lock plate 60 to fix a gear shifting position. Simultaneously, rotation of the clutch arm 49 causes engagement of the main clutch 4 to transmit a power.
