PURPOSE:To avoid self-excited vibration so as to set a gain for restraining and controlling the rolling of a vehicle body, to a high value during running at a very low speed so that it is possible to obtain an effective anti-rolling effect by adjusting the gain to a suitable value during stopping or running at a very low speed. CONSTITUTION:A control device has a plurality of actuators A1, A2 arranged between a vehicle side member and a wheel side member, a plurality of actuator drive means B1, B2 for adjusting the strokes of the actuators A1, A2 in accordance with predetermined instruction signals and a roll control means C computes the instruction signals in accordance with data of lateral acceleration of a vehicle and an variable gain. In this arrangement, there are added a means D for detecting the speed of the vehicle, and a means E for adjusting the gain of the roll control means C so as to avoid self-excited vibration lateral of the vehicle in accordance with a detected vehicle speed during stopping or running at a very low speed.
