PURPOSE:To simplify assembly and to improve mass productivity by fitting the front end part of an optical fiber worked to a small diameter into a small- diameter through-hole provided to a support. CONSTITUTION:An optical element 1 fixed to a mount 2 and the optical fiber 3 inserted into a receptacle 7 and a guide 5 are optically coupled. The through- hole 6 which is tapered and has the diameter at the front end smaller than the outside diameter of the optical fiber 3 is provided to this guide 5. The optical fiber 3 and the element 1 are coupled with high accuracy if the front end part 4 of the optical fiber 3 worked to the small diameter is fitted into the hole 6. The optical coupling structure is thus obtd. The optical coupling structure is, therefore, easily assembled and the mass productivity thereof is enhanced. |
