PURPOSE:To reduce input operation for the formation of a circuit diagram by providing a file for sub-circuits whose functions are divided into blocks and forming a circuit diagram by utilizing the sub-circuits. CONSTITUTION:Circuit diagram information, sub-circuit specifying information and circuit diagram correcting information are inputted from an input part 10 and these information elements are inputted to an input processing part 11 and corrected. A retrieval part 17 retrieves necessary information from a circuit diagram information file 12 for the sub-circuits and an information file 14 for the whole formed circuit diagram. An analysis part 18 analyzes the inputted circuit diagram information to decide whether the functions can be divided into blocks or not or to form block names. An edition part 20 executes edition processing such as the layout of the circuit diagram and an image forming part 22 forms the image information of the circuit diagram in accordance with the circuit diagram information and layout information applied from the edition part 20.
