PURPOSE:To miniaturize the whole device and to accurately read out information by moving an information reading means from a fixed-side portable storage medium to read out the information. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic card 3 is inserted into a guide case 1, the card 3 is carried to a prescribed position by a carrying means consisting of a driving roller 9 and an idler roller 11 and fixed. Then, a driving means including a motor 31 and a feed screw 39 moves a head 57 in the carrying direction of the card 3 from the information storing face of the fixed card 3. Consequently, the magnetic head 57 reads out the information of the card 3.
