PURPOSE:To accurately detect the cause of a fault even during the execution of a complex program by storing prescribed programs corresponding to two steps or more in the past in a rewritable non-volatile memory. CONSTITUTION:The rewritable non-volatile memory (E<2>PROM) 4 has a capacity capable of storing abnormality analyzing information obtained when at least two steps of program are executed. A storing means 7 detects a program relating to the execution of each step, various status and other necessary signals at the time of the execution and stores these abnormality analyzing information in the E<2>PROM 4 in the order of addresses. At that time, a flag is set up in latest abnormality analyzing information. When a runway detecting part 5 detects the runaway of a microprocessor and a system is stopped, the cause of abnormality can be detected accurately retroactively to the past since the abnormality analyzing information is left in the E<2>PROM 4.
