PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the junction of a negative electrode by arranging the junction made of lead-antimony alloy containing selenium or sulfur between an electrode plate group and a terminal electrode pole or terminal made of lead-antimony alloy. CONSTITUTION:A lead storage battery 1 has an electrode plate group 2 consisting of a positive electrode plate using a grid body made of lead-antimony alloy containing 1-3wt.% of antimony and a negative electrode plate using a grid body made of lead-calcium alloy. A junction 4 made of lead-antimony alloy containing 50ppm or more of at least one kind of selenium and sulfur and containing 0.2wt.% of antimony is arranged between the electrode plate group 2 and a terminal electrode pole 3 made of lead-antimony alloy. A normal flowing electrolyte 5 is used. Accordingly, the occurrence of cracks at the junction of a negative electrode can be prevented. In addition, the junction of the negative electrode is prevented from being corroded and cut off. |
