PURPOSE:To update the connecting information of respective exchange connecting equipments according to change information and to prevent decrease in the number of bits due to the increase of channels by providing a change signal channel including signals indicating the number and the width of the channel in which a change is generated according to the start of a call or the completion thereof and the start or the completion of a transmission at the leading part of respective information fields. CONSTITUTION:In order to start to transmit the information from a certain terminal in the channel Ib when the information transmitted to an information area is absent, the number B of the Ib, the width Wb (3 indicating three bytes) and a transmission start signal are fed to the change signal channel V and the three bytes are fed to the area D. The exchange connecting equipment recognizes that the three bytes of the area D are the information of the channel Ib according to this change information and stores. At the time of transmitting the information by the start of the call for other terminal by the channel Ia, the number A, the width Wa (1 shows 1 byte) and the transmission start signal are fed to the channel V. At the time of completing the transmission of the Ib, the signal is fed to the channel V and a receiving exchange identifies and stores the respective information channels. Therefore, the quantity of the information which can be transmitted in the constant information field can be increased.
