PURPOSE:To obtain the title detector useful for plate making in blocking the unnecessary light pervious or reflecting part of a plate making film or photographic printing paper from light, by providing a detection means for detecting the unnecessary light pervious or reflecting part having a size smaller than that of a pixel and/or larger than that of a unit image. CONSTITUTION:The comparison by a comparator 20 is explained as follows. When attention is paid to a position B-2 and a lateral direction, that is, A, B and C are set to a scanning line, it is judged whether the part of B-2 is a necessary part (original picture line) or an unnecessary part (pinhole), on the basis of data of A-1, B-1, B-3, C-2. The result compared and investigated by the comparator 20 is sent to the next light blocking part 30. The comparator 20 is incorporated in CPU 15 but, when CPU 15 is not used, the comparator 20 is provided as it is. When a fed object to be inspected reaches the light blocking part 30, the coordinates data in a sub-memory 18 and the coordinates data of the object to be inspected under the light blocking part 30 are investigated by an AND device and, when the investigation result is real, the blocking of light is automatically performed to the coordinates position of the corresponding object to be inspected.
