In large-calibre weapons (1 sec ), use is made of a loading device to allow firing with rounds consisting of different projectiles (10) and charges/cartridges (17) of different sizes which may be combined with the projectiles upon being loaded into the weapon. The projectiles are placed in a first magazine (2 sec ), at which a first transfer device (7) is disposed. This first transfer device transfers each respective projectile to the axis of the bore (1a) of the weapon so as to make possible the interaction of the projectile with a ramming device which rams home each respective projectile placed in the axis of the bore. The charges/cartridges (17) are placed in a second magazine (3 sec ), at which second transfer devices (18) are disposed. These latter transfer devices transfer each respective charge/cartridge to a defined position behind the associated projectile rammed home by the rammer device. The transfer and rammer devices are arranged, together with magazine control devices (26) and sweeper devices (61) for the cartridges, to co-function in a fully automatic loading function for the projectiles and the charges/cartridges. |
