PURPOSE:To make it possible to prepare a resin molded item without any influence of ununiform thickness of a preform itself, by laying a metal reinforcing material in the preform in a fixed position. CONSTITUTION:Pin members 12 is stood vertically on the molding face 11a of a bottom force and a preform material is sprayed to form a deposit layer. Thereafter, metal reinforcing materials 6a, 6b and 7 are placed on the above- described deposit layer 13 and are supported by the pin members 12 to place the metal reinforcing materials 6a, 6b and 7 in a fixed position. Then, under this condition, the preform material is moreover sprayed to form a deposit layer 14. After drying and solidifying, these deposit layers are taken out from the mold and the above-described pin members 12 are therefrom taken out to form a preform where the metal reinforcing materials 6a, 6b and 7 are laid in a specified position. If a resin molded item is prepared by using the preform 15 like this, the synergistic effect of a reinforcing effect of the above-described metal reinforcing material 6a, 6b and 7 results in excellent strength. required strength can also be obtained at the position where strength is necessary without any influence of the thickness etc., of the preform 15.
