PURPOSE:To prevent useless consumption of ink by automatic execution of intensive recovery action without a special operation, by a method wherein when an ink recovery operation switch is pushed down within a fixed time after turning on a power source, a recovery action time is made longer than an ordinary recovery action time or, a number of times of recovery is increased. CONSTITUTION:When an ink recovery operation switch 33A is pushed down within a fixed time after turning on a power source switch in order to carry out intensive recovery action after opening a package and refilling ink, etc., an ink recovery device 36 is actuated. In that case, a command is instructed to a drive system 35 from a control part 50 in order to execute the recovery action for a longer time than an ordinary recovery action time (time for keeping an ink suction pump in a suction state) or an increased recovery action frequency (frequency of suction of a pump is increased by reciprocating rotation of a pump drive gear). Then, the recovery device 36 is driven, and intensive ink recovery action is carried out. |
