PURPOSE:To obtain a bearing member which can satisfactorily exhibit excellent sliding ability, self-lubricating ability and durability by weaving fluororesin fiber in a special weaving texture to form a bearing surface only with fluororesin fiber. CONSTITUTION:A plate bearing member has a bearing layer 5 formed by weaving a double woven fabric comprising a bearing front part 2 occupied 100% by fluororesin fiber 1 and an adhesive back part 4 having an adhesive fiber interwoven at designated intervals with every five warp of the fluororesin fiber 1, which is almost occupied by adhesive fiber 3 comprising polyester fiber. A plain weave clutch woven by heat-resisting fiber 6 made of glass fiber or the like is used as a core layer 7. Subsequently the bearing layer 5 comprising the fluororesin fiber 1 and the polyester fiber 3 and the core layer 7 comprising the glass fiber 6 or the like are caused to adhere to each other by impregnating a laminated body having the bearing front part 2 exposed to the surface with hardening resin 8 composed of epoxy resin, pressurizing and drying same.
